Margo Galvin has a background in marketing, advertising, PR, academic publishing and employee communications and enjoys bringing her skills and wide experience to the Hosking Houses Trust.
She lives in Stratford-upon-Avon where she works part-time for Stratford Town Council as a Committee Clerk, serving the Planning Consultative committee and the Stratford Strategic Partnership. She also volunteers as a visitor guide at the town’s medieval Guild Chapel on whose behalf she has co-created several themed public events and given talks to local groups.
A lifelong lover of Shakespeare, Margo graduated from the University of Birmingham (Shakespeare Institute) in December 2022 with an MA in Shakespeare and Theatre. Wondering what to do next, in early 2023 she found herself joining 17 other local women volunteers in the RSC’s modern production of Julius Caesar as a member of the Community Chorus – an inspiring and unforgettable experience. She is now looking forward to working with the Bear Pit Theatre, a voluntary organisation which works to build a greater awareness of the performing and visual arts in Stratford.
She continues her Shakespeare research which currently focuses on the Elizabethan London playhouses and costume, the latter being the subject of her dissertation. Although tempted by the idea of doing a PhD, Margo is enjoying her varied and interesting work with the Hosking Houses Trust and currently takes the lead on the Trust’s communications activities.
Margo joined the Trust in July 2022.
