John joined Hosking Houses Trust in April 2025 and has quickly become a valued Trustee, bringing a lifetime experience in Finance and a welcomed input of wisdom and pragmatism to the affairs of the Trust.
Employed for more than 45 years at Rolls Royce plc, John retired in 2013. He had first joined as a Commercial Student, studying at Derby College, followed by a placement in finance. Over the years he held numerous financial jobs in Rolls Royce. He rose to senior positions becoming a Financial Controller in 2001 based in the Manufacturing division, where he was responsible for preparing business plans for New Factories in the UK and abroad, liaising with various government departments in order to obtain grants. His final position in Rolls Royce was Capital Controller – Manufacturing. John left Derbyshire on retirement and moved to Stratford-upon-Avon, where he met Pam and they married in 2014. He immersed himself in Stratford life and became a Director of Stratford in Bloom, Director and Treasurer of Stratford-upon-Avon Christmas Lights Co Ltd, a trustee and treasurer of Stratford Renal Trust, of both the District Scouts and the Shipston-on-Stour Scout Groups. Before moving to Stratford he had held positions as a School Governor and Trustee of a Scout Group, an association he keeps to this day
