Before applying for a residency at Church Cottage please refer to our Purposes and Policy page which explains our criteria for appointing residents. Then download our form and complete it.
Most of our residencies are for one or two months and not less than two weeks. An individual may return up to three times. Church Cottage is ideal for single occupancy but we occasionally host same gender couples. Pets are welcome.
You can apply for a residency by attaching the completed form to an email or send your application by post. We are not open for new applications until Monday 30th March 2026 for appointments to be made from July 2026. If the circumstances of HHT change and we are able to receive applications before this time, it will be announced here, so check from time to time.
For writers’ residencies and all enquiries, pleases email our Chair, Carole Manship, at hoskinghousestrust@gmail.com
For artists’ residencies please email Louise Campbell at L.E.M.Campbell@warwick.ac.uk
The application form will be downloaded as a Word document to your browser’s default Download folder. If you have difficulty with the download, or to request a printed copy of the application form, please phone HHT on 01789 262924 for advice.
Financial support
While Church Cottage costs are fully covered and occupancy is free, further occasional help depends on our financial circumstances. We have previously given personal bursaries, but this depends upon funding achieved which is currently less reliable than formerly.
Find out about our previous residents
We have had the pleasure of welcoming, on average, nine women residents per year to Church Cottage since 2002. Click on the links below to learn more about our residents.
